League Rules & Format
The league and all side games (LMS, Euro Cup, LCS) will be displayed live on this website and summarized at the end of each GW in a PDF doc.
League Format
- There are 16 teams in the PL - prizes are $730 / $305 / $185 for the top 3 at the end of the season. Bottom 3 will be relegated this season.
- 18 teams in the Championship - prizes are $490 / $200 / $120 for the top 3 who will all be promoted to the PL for the following season.
Last Man Standing (LMS)
Starts in GW2 - prize is $340 for the winner.
- 3 teams with the lowest scores are eliminated in each week from GW2 to GW6
- 2 teams with the lowest scores are eliminated in each week from GW7 to GW13
- 1 team with the lowest score is eliminated each week from GW14 to GW17
In the event of a tied score, tie breakers are:
- use of a chip (whoever does not use a chip wins)
- lowest captain score (whoever's captain scores the lowest wins)
- worst league position (whoever is in the worst league position wins - league positions go from 1 to 16 in the PL then from 17 to 34 in the CS. So, 1st in the CS is a "worse" league position than 16th in the PL)
The European Cup
Starts in GW18, straight after LMS. There will be a group stage where you attempt to qualify for the Champion's League and the Europa League knock out stages.
- 4 groups of 6 teams and 2 groups of 5 teams. Each team plays every other team in their group twice over a 10 week period. Each team in the groups of 5 will get 2 byes weeks where they can rest the squad.
- Your FPL scores will be compared against whoever you are facing that week. The team that scores the most FPL points will get 3 points, the losing team will get 0 points. If the teams draw, they each get 1 point.
- Group position is determined by how many points you score from your matchups (3 for a win, 1 for a draw), if tied on points tiebreakers are:
- FPL points difference, then
- FPL points for, then
- Worst league position
- After 10 weeks of teams playing each other, the top 2 in each group will qualify for the Champion's League, with the top 4 teams by win % getting a bye to the Quarter Finals.
- The teams in the top 2 in their groups that did not finish in the top 4 teams overall will qualify for the Champion's League Last 16
- The next best 16 teams who do not finish last in their groups, will qualify for the Europa League Last 16
- The remaining 6 teams that all finish last in their groups will not progress to the knock-out stages
- All teams will be seeded by their group position, if tied then win %, if tied then league position (lower in the league, the higher the seed)
- The knock-out stages will start in GW28 through to the final in GW34. The Last 16, QF and SF will be over 2 legs, the team with the most FPL points scored across both weeks will progress.
- If tied on FPL points across the 2 weeks the tiebreakers will be the same as LMS (chip use, then lowest captain score, then worst league position)
- The winner of the final will take $510 for the Champion's League / $340 for the Europa League
Last Chance Saloon
Starts in GW35. This is a competition for the teams in the Championship only and is intended to be the last chance for teams to win some $ who may be out of contention by this point in the season.
- Teams will qualify if they are in the Championship and are 75 points or more behind the Championship leader in the league by the end of GW34 (obviously the Championship league leader will not qualify)
- If there are more than 16 teams that qualify (unlikely), then there will be one matchup with 3 teams facing off against each other in the Last 16
- There will be the one GameWeek per round until the final in GW38
- Teams will be seeded by their position in the league. So the higher your position in the league at the end of GW34, the higher your seed
- Seeds will be drawn against each other pairing the highest vs the lowest and so on... (e.g. #1 vs #16, #2 vs #15, etc.). The highest seeds will get a bye in the Last 16 if there are less than 16 teams to make the bracket work
- The winner of LCS will get $180 at the end of GW38
Hopefully that explains things. If not, please ask whatever you want to know - I will be happy to answer anything, I would much rather that than people be confused!
Thanks and good luck!
